Dillon Wins Round 1 of the Tennessee vs. Carolina Brawl
BULLS GAP, Tenn. -- Austin Dillon pushed his Warrior powered by an ECR Engine to his third career win with the Carolina Clash Saturday at Volunteer Speedway in the Carolina Clash's first ever appearance in the state of Tennessee. With the win, Dillon keeps the Tennessee vs. Carolina belt home in the Carolina's for now until round 2 when the Carolina Clash returns in September."My crew gave me a great car tonight," said Dillon "I love this place and Joe and Phyllis Loven have a great track here."
During XS Power Racing Batteries Qualifying, Austin Dillon set fast time with a 12.413 which is an average speed of just over 116mph around the high banked speed plant at Volunteer Speedway. Kenny Compton Jr. also took a wild ride in turn 4 when he slammed the outside wall during qualifying putting an end to his night.
When the stars of the Carolina Clash took to Volunteer Speedway for their first ever feature, Dillon broke out to the early lead over the young Chris Ferguson. The first caution flew on lap 3 for a five car pileup in turn one. Everyone was able to continue.
With the always popular Delaware Double File Restarts, Dillon was out front by himself but not for long as Ferguson made a power move on the inside of turn 2 taking over the lead from Dillon. Just as the cars made their way around on lap 4, Klotz Rookie of the Year contender Travis Yow broke in turn 2 while Ferguson slowed with a flat in turn 4 bringing out the caution again.
Ferguson would restart the feature in the 23rd position but was a mission to get back to the front. He would utilize both the high and low sides of Volunteer Speedway to race his way all the way back to the ninth position but would suffer another flat tire on lap 23. Also on lap 23, the East Tennessee native Marc Douglas went pitside while running in the third position under caution. He was unable to continue.
One of the best battles of the night came around this time with Scott Autry and Vic Hill battling for a top five position. Both cars swapped positions a handful of times giving the fans a tremendous show.
Not even the current point's leader, Dennis Franklin was immune to the flat tire syndrome of the evening and suffered a flat on lap 25 and again on lap 37.
By this time, Autry had made his way to the second position and was pressuring Dillon until lap 40 when Autry broke ending his night.

V1-2 What two things did Jesus observe? V3-4 What did Jesus say? Application: (Sometimes little gifts cost a great deal more than big gifts do, and their merit is in the sacrifice they represent. In fact, real giving happens when one gives sacrificially. Interestingly, research has shown that when people's income increases their proportion of charitable contributions tends to drop. We tend to give less the more we are blessed. How would Jesus assess this trend? In contrast to the scribes' pride and hypocrisy stands this woman who has sacrificed out of her life to honor God. So Jesus says, "Beware of the scribes, but follow this widow." When God measures the life of service, he does not just count, he weighs). How’s you giving to God been? V 5-6 What were the disciples doing? What did Jesus say to them? (The siege of Jerusalem in the year 70 AD was a decisive event. The Roman army, led by the future Emperor Titus, with Tiberius Julius Alexander as his second-in-command, besieged and conquered the city of Jerusalem. The city and its famous Temple were destroyed, Jews were scattered far and wide and the sacrificial Jewish system ceased. Jews did not return to Jerusalem until 1948 and the sacrificial system has not resumed. When the disciples praised its grandeur to Jesus (v. 5), the temple was in the midst of an eighty-three-year building program. Started about 20 B.C., it continued until A.D. 63-64, just a few years before Jerusalem's fall in A.D. 70). Application: Europe has beautiful cathedrals that are empty. America has beautiful churches that are empty. The Lord does not dwell in cathedrals or churches; He dwells in people’s hearts. Do you know people who go to church, but do not have Jesus in their hearts? What will you do about it? V7 What were the disciples asking? V8-9 What did Jesus tell them? Application: (God is speaking through Jesus about unfolding events in the plan). What 3 things does Jesus tell us to do? Do you ever follow after predictions of Jesus’ coming? Do you ever get caught up in predictions of dates and times? What does Jesus say to do when these things come your way? “Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?” V10-11 What does Jesus say will take place as we enter the end of days? V12 What will happen to Christians? V13-15 What should we do? V16-18 What will happen? V19 What should we do?
