Michigan Welcomes Seven-Member Class for 2011 Season

"We are very excited about the 2011 class of Wolverines," Pankratz said. "All seven are outstanding students with tremendous athleticism. It is a versatile and well-balanced group which will complement our returning squad. We look forward to competing for another Big Ten and national championship."

Annable, a forward, has had plenty of provincial and national team experience while playing high school field hockey at the Collingwood School in West Vancouver, B.C. She was a co-captain her senior season at Collingwood, helping them to a B.C. Provincial High School AA Championship in 2010. Annable is a three-time First Team Provincial AA All-Star and helped Collingwood to three North Shore High School League titles. She played on the Canadian Junior Pan Am team in 2010, helping them to a second-place finish and was on the team that won the Under-16 Canadian National Championships in 2009. Annable played on the West Van Adanacs club team, helping them to a U.S. Festival Under-19 Pool B title in 2010. She was a member of the 2009 B.C. Under-16 Provincial Club champion and the 2008 Under-16 Cal Cup Tournament winners. Annable also played soccer and volleyball at Collingwood and was on the Honor and Effort Roll at Collingwood in 2010 and 2011.

Crovo, a goalkeeper, was selected to the U.S. Under-19 National Team after her junior season and played test matches as a senior in four-game series against Canada and at Chile. She was selected to the California Senior High Performance team in the spring, playing in the Women's Senior National Championship in Washington D.C. Crovo won a bronze medal at the 2011 Cal Cup and was on the Hollywood Team that took third place in the Disney Tournament. Crovo missed her senior season at Harvard-Westlake due to injury, but helped the Wolverines to second place in the CIF her junior season. She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars at Harvard-Westlake.

Ellis, a back, was a captain and starter on defense for Madison High School in Madison N.J., her senior season, helping the Dodgers to a conference championship and a runner-up finish in the Morris County Tournament. Ellis earned First Team all-conference, all-county and all-area honors in 2010 and was a second-team North Jersey Group II selection. She was the team MVP, scoring 12 goals and assisting on seven others. She played forward for the Dodgers as a junior, scoring 18 goals and helping the team that was the Morris County and the NJSIAA Group II champions. Ellis was a second-team all-county selection in 2009. She also played basketball and softball at Madison and is a member of the school's High Honor Roll.

Most schools have field hockey scholarships especially d1 schools but its a little too late for d1 recruitment you can try though….d3 school coaches can usually sway the financial aid ppl to give you more money but its based on ‘academics’ and grants….look at some schools that your interested in and email their coach to have them come see you play…also have your currenyt coach give them a call to come see you play….good luck and remember do the NCAA clearinghouse just in case

well this year im going to be trying out for my school’s varsity field hockey team. this past season they were state champs for our division. i played my second year of jv this past season and played in all of the games and started almost every game. i think im a pretty good player because i was accepted in the futures program for field hockey . but the thing is is that there are 3 seniors leaving and so the team this year will be smaller then last year. im currently running indoor track to stay in shape and playing indoor field hockey . are they’re any other tips/advice that you can offer? i love the sport of field hockey and i am willing to work hard to make the team because it would mean the world to me if i made it. how can i be a field hockey coach?

how can i be a field hockey coach or a softball coach? in the future i’m thinking of coaching high school softball and field hockey . since i cant play those sports because of my femoral anteversion i can always be a coach. i dont know much about how to be a coach do u need to go to school for that or do u just need to know the rules of the game?

And this coach named Coach Kurtz (i hate the shizz out of her) she ACTS like she knows how to play and everyone sees it. So everyone hates her because she tells us what to do and everyone complains about her and our other coaches agree but they wont fire her so idk but you DO NOT wanna be hated by your team. If your hated, you would be talked about and yeahh then things start.
