David called the day of the appointment to let me know what his technician's work schedule would be for that day so I may continue on with my life. My 6 month old Frigidaire dishwasher decided to die on me so I called the manufacturer and was given 3 local companies and De Anza Appliance was one of them. The service technician came out first thing Friday morning 8 AM on the dot just as they promised. He knew exactly what the problem was and already had the part to replace! The whole process took about 20 minutes! Very fast in my book! He was very friendly and very knowledgeable. This was under my warranty so I didn't pay, so I'm not sure how their prices measure up. Icemaker Locks Off After Every Cycle - Appliance Repair Forum
I removed the ice maker to check to a plugged defrost drain. It was working perfectly before removal. Since reinstall, the locking arm moves to the locked position after every cycle. In other words, it make one load of ice, drops it, then will not work again unless I push down the arm. I tried blocking the arm with a ham and it works perfectly, filling and dumping as expected. Does anyone have a clue as to why the arm would re-lock itself after each cycle?
