The Buccaneer is a destination beach resort, family-owned and operated since 1947. St. Croix’s Buccaneer resort has completed a two-year $ 5 million makeover of its 138 guest rooms, spa, dining areas, and lobby, continuing the resort’s tradition of balancing modern luxury with its 400-year legacy. The resort also offers special 20% savings off winter rates.

The Buccaneer resort real estate, signature pink Big House and some of its stone structures, including a restored sugar mill, dates back to 1600 and tell the story of the history of the island under seven flags, before to become a U.S. territory in 1917. In the early 1700s, the estate was the home of Alexander Hamilton, revolutionary war hero and first secretary of the American treasury. Today The Buccaneer is worth noting that the station's most historic Caribbean and is a member of Historic Hotels of America, a division of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The makeover is renovating all aspects of the resort, providing room mahogany furniture, screen televisions, plush bedding, curtains and soft furnishings design and sleek new bathrooms with marble, glass and wood.

Highlights of the five cottages are renovated house, reserved for the exclusive use of families of five. Designed to appeal to children and parents, the chalets have children's rooms with twin beds and a trundle bed, and walls with hand painted fish and mermaids by renowned muralist of the Holy Cross Isabel Picard. Both parents’ and kids’ rooms feature flat screen TVs with DVDs. Master bedrooms have spacious window seats that double as beds and reading nooks. Each cottage has a spacious lawn, furnished patio and large picture windows framing views of the Caribbean Sea.

The Hideaway Spa crowns the makeover project with a complete renovation that created a new salon for body treatments and massages. The spa is decorated with marble floors, rattan sofas with overstuffed pillows, and live tropical foliage.Guests relax in an atmosphere of serene earth tones, soothing water features aromatherapy scents awaiting treatment of choice from an extensive menu of massages, body wraps and polishes. Body care can be paired with manicures, pedicures, hair services and facials in a variety of spa experiences half day and full day.
